Authenticity
Every item sourced directly from island artisans.
Every piece in our shop has traveled a long way to reach you — and passed through hands we know by name. We source directly from artisan families across Bali, Indonesia who have honed their craft for generations. No catalogs. No trade shows. No middlemen. We sit in their workshops, share meals at their tables, and work alongside them to bring their art to the world. Many of these families have been part of this business for over 25 years. They’re not suppliers. They’re friends.
We started in wholesale, building relationships with more than 50 artisan families and supplying gift shops across Maui. Along the way, we realized something simple: the same beautiful pieces we were sourcing could be offered directly to the people who actually wanted them — you — at a fraction of what island gift shops charge. So we cut out the markup, not the craft.
Mailed From Maui was built on that idea. Real island craftsmanship, made by real people, at prices that honor the artist instead of the retailer. Every item tells a story. Every purchase supports a family. And every package ships with aloha, straight from Maui to your door.
Every item sourced directly from island artisans.
30–50% below retail, because you pay for craft, not markup.

Mailed From Maui didn’t start with me. It started 28 years ago with Robbie and Yasho, a couple who spent decades building deep relationships with artisan families across Bali. They founded a business called Asian Arts, and over the years those artisan families became like family to them — watching their children grow up, celebrating their craft, and bringing their work to Maui.
Four years ago, I had the honor of buying the business from Robbie and Yasho. On my very first trip to Bali, they personally introduced me to every family they’d worked with — sitting in their workshops, sharing meals, walking me through the traditions and techniques passed down through generations. The photo above is from that trip. It’s one of the most meaningful months of my life.
Robbie and Yasho have become family to me too. Robbie is still a mentor of mine — we see each other every week, and I’m endlessly grateful for everything he continues to teach me. Mailed From Maui is a new chapter of this business, a rebrand built for a new era, but the relationships, the trust, and the love for this craft are the same ones Robbie and Yasho built. I’m honored to carry it forward.
This business is, in many ways, an ode to my mother, Mary Seipel, who passed away from cancer in 2015. My mom was an absolute angel — the sweetest, most loving, most nurturing woman I've ever known. She was also one of the greatest gift givers I've ever met. Giving was her love language, and she had this incredible way of finding the perfect little something for everyone in her life. She loved receiving gifts just as much, and somewhere along the way, she passed that love on to me.
I still have so many little trinkets and treasures from her scattered around my life — small things that catch my eye and instantly bring back a memory, a moment, a feeling. That's the magic of a good gift. It carries energy. When my brother gives me a shirt, every time I wear it I think of him, and it means so much more than anything I could've picked out for myself. Gifts tell stories. They create connection. They become little anchors to the people we love.
That's the spirit I want to bring to Mailed From Maui. I want this to be the place you come when you're looking for something special for someone you love — a birthday, a Christmas, a just-because. Something that'll make them laugh, or smile, or feel thought of. My mom would have absolutely loved this business, and she's with me in it every day. So this one's for her.
