A striking carved limestone relief panel depicting a seated goddess enshrined within a flame-shaped mandorla — a sacred halo of fire representing divine energy, protection, and spiritual illumination.
The goddess sits cross-legged upon a large lotus blossom at the base, her serene expression radiating calm wisdom. In her right hand she holds a strand of prayer beads, while her left hand cradles a blooming flower. She wears an elaborate pointed crown, layered necklaces, and ornate traditional Balinese garments with flowing sleeves and draped sashes. Every detail is carved in high relief from a single block of solid natural limestone.
The surrounding mandorla is adorned with rhythmic, curling flame motifs that frame the figure in a teardrop-shaped arch — a traditional design element found in sacred Balinese and Buddhist temple art. The flat back makes this piece uniquely versatile: it can lean against a wall, be mounted, set into concrete, or displayed on an easel or stand.
This is a truly special piece — part sculpture, part sacred architectural element — and unlike anything else in the collection.
