These one-of-a-kind earrings are handmade on Maui by artist Marley Marina. Each one features a real butterfly wing in soft, translucent pale yellow, preserved in clear resin and suspended beneath a diamond-shaped abalone shell tile and a dark pearl accent. The three elements — pearl, abalone, wing — create a layered drop that moves beautifully and catches light at every level.
The butterfly wings are ethically sourced from butterflies that died naturally — nothing was harmed in the making of these pieces. The abalone tiles shimmer with deep blues, greens, and purples that shift depending on the angle, while the delicate pale wings below keep the overall feel light, airy, and organic. It’s a combination of ocean and sky you won’t find anywhere else.
